My name is Tomislav Marko Novosel. I was born at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA on February 4, 1998. My mother was Ljuba Jelencic Novosel and my father is Tomislav Novosel. I had two homes, one in New Castle where I lived with my mom and one in Ellwood City where I lived with my dad. Ever since I was little I loved being with my family in Ellwood City and enjoyed playing with my cousins: Richard A. Fec, Daniel Fec, Marina Fec, Ryan Buzard, Marc Fec, Abigayle Fec, Zachary Fec, Tyler Buzard, Raelyn Fec, Christian Fec, and Alexander Fec. My parents were born in Zagreb, Croatia and were married there in 1994. My first visit to Croatia was in 2001 with my mother and grandmother Anka Jelencic Denk. During our flight back to the United States on September 11, 2001 our plane was detoured to Newfoundland, Canada, where we stayed at the local Lions Club. That wasn't my first introduction to the Lion's Club. Every year I volunteered to work for the Ellwood City Lions Club booth during the 4th of July Arts and Crafts Festival. I like to serve, but my favorite job was to cut curly fries, when dad let me. The second time I went to Croatia, my favorite trip, was with my dad in 2005. We visited my Uncle Marijan Krog and Aunt Ljiljana Krog and cousins Damir, Roman, and Goran Krog. My dad took me to the Adriatic Sea where I learned how to snorkel. You should see all the sea shells and little fish as they swim by. Yes I loved being in water to swim and jump on my dad to dunk him. He kept telling people that I had gills. One year we went to Ocean City, MD with Cheech and Theron. I know they let me dunk them, but still I had fun. I asked my dad if we could go again! "How's it going driver?" When I was 7 years old I caught my first trout. As dad was fiddling around with worms and tangled lines, I caught three more. I teased him becauise he didn't catch any fish that day. I loved to play little league baseball for the Ellwood City S.O.I. Last year we were great! We were the little league's first place team. But somehow, we lost to my cousin Ryan's team, the Wolves. Ryan asked me if I wanted to play with him this year. He will ask the coach to pick me. Although I am of Croatian descent, I favored to be called, Tommy, as everyone called me at St. Vitus, George Washington, and New Castle Jr. High schools. I liked it there except one thing: not enough milk!! Yeah, I wrote a letter to the principal at George Washington to change the cafeteria rules. Every student should get 2 cartons of milk, just like the teachers! I think Mr. Pop didn't turn that letter in. I couldn't wait to go to my aunts houses, "Teta Zvonka" Zvonimira Fec and "Teta Vera" Vera Tomaskovic to eat Croatian Chushpajz, in english that means vegetable stew. But that's not the only reason, I loved to visit my entire family in Ellwood City. "Stric Bero", my uncle Berislav Fec always gave me money when I helped to cut the grass. My cousins Richard and Jackie Fec, David and Wendy Fec, Paul and Tanya Fec, Mladen Tomaskovic, Wliiam and Sandra Buzard gave me the love of my life! As you can see my family is all in Ellwood City, that's why in October of 2010 I decided to move to Ellwood City. I told my dad that I packed my bags. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to finish that paper what you call a Petition. But Rich knows when dad gives me "that look" I will do it. My favorite character is James Bond. I watched all the Bond movies and all 8 seasons of the TV-series "24". Next week I told dad we were going to rent season one again. I belonged to Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish, where I was an altar server. Sometimes I daydreamed and I needed to look at my dad to tell me what to do next. On January 19, 2011 my life on this earth ended short. But don't worry dad, I am in God's beautiful garden with my grandmother "Baka Pepica" Josipa Novosel and grandfathers Tomo Novosel and Slavko Jelencic. Dad, I know it's not your birthday till Thursday, but I love you so much!" Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Fr. Mark L. Thomas at Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 10 A.M. Contributions can be made in Tommy's name to the Ellwood City Lions Club, 325 6th Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
my husband and I would sit with you on the baseball bleachers to cheer for the Ellwood City "BLUES". Go Blue we would say. You would tell us what we missed if we came late to the game. We are Max Keally's grandparents. We are sorry for your loss, and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. May God be with you and your family.

Tomislav, I will miss your smiling face at the festival or on the ball field, but Heaven is a sweeter place with you there. Dear God, Bless his family and may they know that Tomislav is preparing a glorious place for all of them to come and join him someday. We will all see each other again.
