Roberta "Birdie" Glover, 93, formerly of North Sewickley Township, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. Born in Ellwood City on September 25, 1918, Birdie was the daughter of the late Thomas and Pearl Reynolds Haynes. She married Charles Owen Glover, who preceded her in death in 1979. She was a member of Wiley Hill Baptist Church. Everyone who knew and loved Birdie will always remember her wonderful baking, especially her pies and rolls. She was an avid gardener and her flowers always brightened the neighborhood. Birdie is survived by her chidren and their spouses, Karen and Donald Mattern of Wellsville, OH, Sharon Kathleen Parks, Daniel and Marcia Glover and Thomas K. Glover, all of Ellwood City, 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Robert Owen Glover, Nancy J. Reno and Joan R. Casuccio, three grandchildren, Sherry Reno, Anthony C. Casuccio and Bobby Parks, and a son-in-law, Troy James Parks. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9th from 4-8 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the visitation at 8:00 PM Thursday evening with Rev. Bruce A. Ballantine of the First Presbyterian Church of Wooster. Interment will take place in Locust Grove Cemetery.
