Mary O'Brien, 88 of Avalon Springs Nursing Center formerly of Sharpsville passed away at her residence on April 16, 2013 at 6:35 AM. Born in Sharon, PA on July 10, 1924, Mary was the daughter of the late George and Julia Gulla Ursta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson O'Brien on April 16, 2002. They were married on October 31, 1947. They owned and operated O'Brien's Grocery Store in Ohio St. and Sterling Ave. in Sharon. Mary was a member of St. John's Carpato-Russian Orthodox Church. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues at Thorton Hall, playing bingo and babysitting her grandchildren. Surviving are four children, Patricia Tomczak of Cool Spring Twp., Shelia O'Brien of Clearwater, FL, Mary Clarke of Sharpsville and Robert O'Brien of Clearwater, FL, a sister, Marcella Tkach of Monroe, MI, 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a grandson, James R. O'Brien, a sister, Helen Bodnovich and three brother, John, Paul and Ronald Ursta. Friends may call at the Tomon Funeral and Cremation Services in the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 10 AM until 12 Noon. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 12 Noon in the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home by Fr. David Mastroberte. Private interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
