Mary Kraynok

Mary Kraynok, 88 of 1706 Ridge Ave., Sharpsville fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 5:47 P.M. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, PA. A daughter of the late George and Mary Buchko Prokop she was born in Ralphton, PA on January 8, 1923. After graduating from Farrell High School in 1941, Mary went on to study bookkeeping at Shenango Valley Business Institute. She worked as a bookkeeper for Robbins Furniture Store in Sharon prior to her marriage to Edward J. Kraynok on September 13, 1947. Edward passed away on May 6, 2006. Mary was an active member of St. John's Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church where she was a member of the Choir for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School for many years and was also a longtime member and past treasurer of the Mothers and Daughters Club of the Church. She is survived by her children, Sheila, wife of John Hrapchak of Columbia, MD, Edward G. and Sandra Kraynok of Buckhannon, WV and Janice Kraynok of Coraopolis, PA, 2 grandsons, Nicholas Kraynok of San Angelo, TX and Joseph and Dr. Megan Clegg Kraynok of Ada, OH, 3 sisters, Anne Vermeire of Hermitage, Dr. Helen Kee of La Marque, TX and Pauline Koval of Farrell and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille Metz of Hermitage, Tom Kepler of Sarasota, FL, Carolyn and Bill Vasko of Hermitage and Camilla and Bill Conlin of Warren, OH as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Tomon Funeral and Cremation Services in the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 5 to 9 P.M. where a Panachida will be offered at 8 P.M. Funeral Services will be offered Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11 A.M. in St. John's Orthodox Cemetery Chapel by V. Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Polanichka. This will be preceded by a brief Service at the Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in St. John's Orthodox Cemetery. Family suggests Memorial Contributions can be made in Mrs. Kraynok's name to the building fund at St. John's Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church.
