Jennie A. Horton, 98, of 217 Hazen Avenue North, Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, December 15th at Golden Hills Nursing Home in New Castle. Born on March 1, 1912 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Mary Seiffert Michlich. She was a 1929 graduate of Lincoln High School and worked as a secretary for US Steel, the former National Tube before her marriage. She married Ellis N. Horton on June 8, 1938. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1990. Mrs. Horton was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and its Christian Mothers. She was also a member of AARP and the Ellwood Area Golden Agers. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She is survived by her children, Linda and Basil Armstrong of York, PA, Carol and Jim Dambach of Wampum, Robert Horton of Ellwood City and John E. and Joyce Horton of Jessup, MD, 5 grandchildren: Matthew and Debbie Tyler, Nicholas Tyler, Richard Lutz, Kristina Bennett and Sara Horton and 2 great grandchildren, Clara and Campbell Tyler. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers: William, Aurel and Edward Michlich and a sister, Millie Waller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 18th at 11:30 AM at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Christian Mothers are asked to meet at 11:15 AM to form the honor guard.
